Clothing and accessories made in small Egyptian workshops, not factories: hand-embroidered galabeyas and tunics, Siwi and Bedouin needlework, hand-loomed cotton and linen scarves, naturally dyed shawls, and leather belts and hats finished by hand. Egyptian cotton is grown here and much of it is still spun and woven locally, which is why the fabric quality in this category rewards a close look. Expect small irregularities in stitching — that is the signature of hand embroidery, not a defect.
